I have had (for some strange reason or other) a quarter-century (or longer)
association with the company through buying these records.
They were (according to their blurb on the back of their records in the late
50's/early 60's) the first record company to release the world's first commercially available stereo LP in November
1957 (It was a two disc set comprising the Dukes of Dixieland's Marching Along LP and Railroad, Sounds of A Vanishing Era. An image of this set is pictured right.)
Back in February 2002, as I was starting to set up brucelaing.com (which was
temporarily changed to brucelaing.net), I thought I would try something like chronicling the history of Audio Fidelity
(which surprisingly included many famous recordings of personalities by some of Hollywood's greatest performers.)
At the moment, my research has been sketchy. This is where you come in.
In order to make this discography complete, I need you're help in supplying
me information about these LP's
I will not be just covering their releases in the U.S., but I will also be
compiling lists of recordings (if different from their original catalogue numbers) from other parts of the world
(E.G. Australia, France and so on...) Also, I will be listing LP's that were special edition relases (for example,
the Leon Berry Giant Wurlitzer Pipe Organ LP Volume 1 which was both released generally and as a special Hi-Fi
show edition)
If you would like to help me out on this (eventually this listing may become)
massive database, then please contact me (click on the letterbox below to e-mail me) either supplying info on the
LP name, catalogue number, track listing, recording credits, year of release and so on...
the address to contact me is:
afd@brucelaing.com
Corrections and additions can also be made through the above E-Mail address
See ya soon...
Bruce.
